lyrics

Part I: The Journey of 1000 Lifetimes

The song of a whisper in my ears
Flows from the wind that doth cry softly

I yearned to be the master of the mountains
The king of the winds
The emperor of the seas
The ruler of the fires beneath

In nomine domini mei infernus

I sang a madrigal to the wind
Aeolian harps joined in
Apollo played a dirge of sorrow
On his flute
I wandered through the forest
Alone like the wandering wolf
Where day turns to night and night to day
The summer's death, autumn rain

The journey of 1000 lifetimes
No lust for all that I've left behind
To be the envy of all of mankind
To be the ruler for all of time

From the dark you shall see
My Lustrous azure gaze
That harkens to the sapphire

Part II: Lifetime of 1000 journeys

I've crossed the sands of time
The mountains that drape my mind
Beyond where all hope had lied
Where all sorrow and joy had died

I have seen the lesser Gods die
By the sword of Sathanas
In the courtyard in the solitude of the moon

The song of summer ended
And the aria of autumn began

I desired not paradise
For I abhor the bitter taste of a crumbling Elysium
I desired not the heavens
For the gods poisoned my fate with the waters of woe

I desired not the quench of happiness
For I loathe paradigms of Shakespearean infatuation
And playing the role of the masochistic tragedian
For far too long...

Seeds of scorn once sowed in me
Flourish into flora of hatred
With an appetite of bloodlust
And a thirst for vengeance

Yet I now desire only Solitude
Where I may fall by my own hands...

Silence now, Time!
Your word is undesired and unbecoming
I hark not at your crescendoing pendulum

Now I was once king, of terrain infinite
The whores of Bethlehem mine
I was the emperor of man and woman
And like the eagle, I could fly
My cloth stained a royal violet
And the most lustrous auric hue
No mourning beyond my horizon
Nor the sight of impending doom

But even I have befallen
Victim to the sands of time
Decaying away
Are My feathers of a forgotten age
I cannot fly away
Destiny's wine I have drunk
I cannot fly anymore

I am shackled
I am broken
I am decay

I am the feathers of a forgotten age.
